Who knew how easy hummus was to make? So economical too! If you are a common cook, it is very likely that you have all of the ingredients already stocked in the pantry and fridge, maybe you just have to pick up a can of chickpeas and tahini, but that it! Here is my base hummus recipe, but feel free to add in some avocado or roasted red peppers to create a delish take on your hummus!
Ingredients:
♦ 1 can drained chickpeas/garbanzo beans (SAME thing…correct me if I am wrong)
♦ 2 tbsp tahini
♦ ½ tsp sea salt
♦ 2 tsp white sesame seeds
♦ 1 tsp sesame oil
♦ 1 ½ tsp olive oil
♦ lemon juice from ½ lemon
♦ splash of water (more or less depending on desired consistency)
Just place all ingredients into a food processor (or blender if you are in college and do not own a food processor). Just blend together until the hummus comes out smooth. I promise it will get there!

I enjoyed mine with sliced english cucumber and celery. Now that I know how easy it is to make hummus, I will no longer buy it–and I can mix it up by adding roasted red peppers or olives or even avocado! Yummy!
What’s your favorite kind of hummus?
Awesome I have to try this immediately! And love the picture looks delightful!
