I am back baby! Back to my regularly scheduled program. Last week and this week, I consistently got in the gym, something I use to do an auto pilot. It turns out though (I will say this over and over again), that when I spend the day programming and training for others, my workout plans go out the window. For a while that was just fine with me. I needed a rest, my days were jam packed, I was still staying active in my days… but my body adapted and got used to my non-training life, so I ramped up and prioritized my own workouts and I have never felt this good in a while!

Happy Friday everyone! Boy, was it a
good great week! The final week of my Whole30 and I honestly feel on top of the world. My food has been in control. I have learned what works for me. I have my “sugar dragon” under control. It is pretty amazing, but I will go into further detail in my final Whole30 summary post this weekend—so stay tuned. As for this week, I’m focusing on my meals, workouts, and recovery sessions. thursday challenge
This workout is my killer workout from Thursday. I was hoping to get it up by Friday, but as you know, life is a whirlwind! I just got home again from a mini vacation/weekend away, but I will do a separate post about that. My best friend wanted me to help her get back in shape after spending a few month abroad. I was more than excited to help out and challenge myself along the way.
spring semester
Classes resumed this week for me! Yay college! I actually am really excited about this semester. What has changed? The more difficult classes? Longer and busier schedule? Nope! My new outlook on life! Remember my New Year’s Resolutions? Yeah, those are still going strong–if not stronger than ever!

chasing happiness
I started this blog as a health blog in memory of my best friend Jessi a few months ago. Jessi was my best friend that I waited to emerge all my life, and the two years I knew her, though short, I felt like we had been friends our whole lives. She was the one and only person I could relate to 100%. I knew she would always understand and help me through difficult times. It has been seven months to the night now. Seven months since I lost my best friend, confidant, and sister in Christ. I miss her every single day, and it still feels as fresh as the night she passed. I have been lying to myself thinking that things have been better. But the truth is, I am very lost.

crossfit mashup
Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday! Let me tell you–I am sore, sore, sore. Thanks to my crossfit session yesterday morning. It was about my third to fourth time doing crossfit and yesterday a lot of things were introduced to me haha. I absolutely love it though and the feeling of being sore the next day (today). I am already planning my workout for today–maybe a run before it starts snowing here this week or some yoga… Continue reading

As a busy engineering student, most times I find it difficult to get out for some “me” time. I am really trying hard this school year at making my health, both physical and mental health, a top priority. Why? Because being healthy makes me happy and when I feel happy, I feel like my life is more put together, and when I feel like my life is put together, I find that I am more inclined to study more effectively. So, this is how my “me” time this weekend went thus far… Continue reading
healthy and smart
College is back in full swing–meaning, that it is more difficult to keep up my healthy intentions when I have other things like studying, group projects, and club meetings to focus on. I admit, lately my health and fitness has been put on the back burner, but I am back in action. Here are some things I have learned over the years about staying healthy, both mentally and physically, in college without sacrificing my studies.
crossfit rookie
I finally tried crossfit… and I really really like it. I have only been to three one-on-one sessions, but so far, I get an amazing workout every time. It definitely is not for the weak minded… I find myself pushing hard and testing my limits of what I can do versus what my mind says I can do. The following are some of my beginning workouts or WoD (workout of the day). Continue reading
hiking the summer away
On to the finale of my summer “vacation.” I say “vacation” because I was vacationing in the colorful state in which I attend school, Colorado. I am so blessed to call this amazing place my home away from home. The beauty and wonder never ceases to captivate me. On the final day in Glenwood Springs, my family and I went off the beaten path to a more than less popular hiking trail, but it did not disappoint by any means! It was full of gorgeous views of the river and falls and if it were not for the Grizzly Bear encounter (yes, GRIZZLY BEAR!!!), then we would have kept hiking the afternoon. Continue reading
