This weekend, my sister and I headed up to Austin to celebrate my future sister-in-law’s bachelorette party and festivities.  It was so much fun and we were lucky to have nice weather.  If you have not heard, Houston has been flooding pretty badly and pretty much all of Texas has been hit with some serious storms.  Pretty much everything we did centered around the outdoors like grilling and playing games on the patio, going to various wineries and BBQ for lunch, to walking around 6th Street bar hopping the night away.  It was great meeting all of the friends and family that I get to see again come July for the wedding–I can’t wait!

texas wheat waffles

Y’all, I could not be happier this morning!  Can you just look at these Texas waffles?  Pure heaven!  I cannot tell you how excited I was that these turned out the way I had hoped!  Yayayay!  Rejoice with me!  You can take the girl out of Texas, but not the Texas out of the girl y’all!

christmas patience and presents

Christmas eve and Christmas this year were very different.  I cannot think of a tradition that was followed to a tee this year.  I guess that is what happens when you grow older and you are the youngest in the family.  The Christmas season this year started out with a bang–maybe too much of a bang though, because my spirit slowly faded.  I felt like Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch.  I should have sung “Where are you Christmas” on repeat.

I took my last final Friday morning.  After a grueling week of being held up in the library and stressing, it was so nice to finally be finished!  Now all that was left was packing and waking up at 3:30 am Saturday morning to catch my flight.  All that was standing between me and Texas was the dreaded packing… oh, how I despise packing…
